Impressively dark in the glass. The nose bursts with casis, cherry, black berry, hints of chocolate and leather. On the palate, the texture is rich and velvety, building in complexity with layers of black and red fruit, baking spices and a hint of choclolate. The finish is plush, powerful and long.
Sorted and destemmed into open top macro fermenters. 2 day cold soak. Fermented to dryness and then pressed in a basket press. Stored in stainless steel tank for lees settling. Maloactic fermentation completed. Aged in neutral and new (33%) French oak barrels for 22+ months. 100% Single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon - Wahluke Slope AVA. Limited production (only 60 cases produced). 15.40% Alcohol/Vol.
The 2023 vintage in the Wahluke Slope, was marked by excellent quality, ripe fruit, balanced acidity and rich textures - this is especially true for Cabernet Sauvignon. Lower yields produced more concentrated flavors. 2023 wines will be great for early drinking or cellaring.
